Community Events and Outreach

 

VCAN is dedicated to community engagement.  Our events include Holiday Parties, Summer Movie Night Series, Spring Fling, Fall Festival, and more.  Our dedicated volunteers work to build partnerships with organizations such as YDI, Headstart Program, Meadowlake Parks Association MLPAA, NM Dept. of Health, Teeniors, and others so that we can bring community members together for fun and food.  Our events are always free and open to everyone.  If you would like more information, please email us at valco.can@gmail.com or attend our next meeting every second Saturday of the Month at 3:00pm.  Click here to RSVP.

Meadowlake Clean-up

The Meadowlake area has for too long been subject to illegal dumping of trash.  We have formed a committee to create a strategy to remove the litter from our community and take steps to prevent this activity in the future.  If you would like more information or attend our next monthly meeting every second Saturday of the month at 3:00PM, please email us at valco.can@gmail.com.  Click here to RSVP.

Government Accountability

​

Our local and state government officials are an integral part of the Valencia County community.  Their work affects all residents in the County on several levels.

 

Our government accountability committee is focusing on creating non-partisan dialog with all elected, appointed, and hired officials in Valencia County to ensure the needs of the community are heard and action is taken to improve the quality of life for all residents. Youth Mentorship​

​

There are many environmental issues that affect the quality

of life for all Valencia County residents.  VCAN is working 

on issues with partners such as Water Watchers of Valencia 

and Southwest Organizing Project and others to ensure the

interests of the community is considered when officials are

making decisions.  If you would like more information,
